Administrator In Training Manual
This manual is a must have for anyone who is starting or currently completing an administrator in training (A-I-T) program for their administrator license.
The manual is designed to enrich your AIT experience by providing you specific activities and tasks to complete as you rotate through the various departments in your nursing home internship site.
The majority of individuals who complete an A-I-T program report that they felt that their training was not sufficient to prepare them for the challenges they will face as the administrator of record. There is no model training program for nursing home administrators and the length and quality of individual training programs varies greatly.
Most AIT training programs are designed around completing specific tasks ( complete 30 hours in resident care, complete 15 hours in maintenance, etc.) And there is usually a checklist of topic areas to cover but there is not specific information for you to check off that you learned. There are no specific questions to ask facility staff. The state licensing board focuses on the hours you completed the areas covered. There is no real measurement of what exactly was learned.
